Yesterday’s Earth Day celebration (PDF poster), sponsored by
Transition Northfield, got moved indoors to the Armory when morning rains axed the planned Central Park location. But sun poked through by mid-afternoon and the non-booth activities moved outdoors on Division St. On the right: my favorite photo.

The DJJD Committee ambushed Will Healy as he ate lunch at the Quarterback Club today, informing him that he’s this year’s recipient of the Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award.
The award “… is given to a Northfield citizen who exemplifies the commitment to public service which Joseph Lee Heywood lived and died for.” (See the screenshot of 2008 recipient Scott Richardson’s nomination letter on the right.)

Ryan Heinritz, the new Executive Director of the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault, stopped by my table at GBM yesterday and asked if I was attending Meredith Fierke’s concert on Friday at the Paradise. Yah.

Alas, I’m a week late with these photos from the Northfield Historical Society (NHS) Annual Meeting and Membership Ball and I didn’t take many as I’d hoped (too much socializing with my sweetie).
But there are a couple of keepers in the batch like the one of Chip DeMann with his registration table work crew and the one of NHS ED Hayes Scriven with his wife Jenny and his parents, Sue and Mark Scriven.
